1940 – 1950

Born in the heat of battle, Jeep® 4×4, The Go-Anywhere, Do-Anything® was born in the battle. It emerged as a hero around the world to thousands of Allied soldiers. Jeep civilian vehicles were equally heroic in the 1940s and they firmly established the Jeep brand as the undisputed leader in 4×4 technology.

1950 – 1960

The rise of the recreation and superior engineered vehicles in the 1950s saw the launch of Jeep® Jamborees with its seven unique models which took the original freedom machine to new heights in sales.

1960 – 1970

Unparalleled refinement and innovation is what best described the all-new Jeep® Wagoneer. For work, play, recreation and luxuriously capable transportation – the Jeep brand line-up grew to include 14 models.

1970 – 1980

In the ’70s with the introduction of the first full-time 4×4 system, Jeep’s 4×4 leadership continued with the sporty 2-door full-size Cherokee. Jeep swept the 4×4 of the Year Awards. Six models elevated the sales to new heights and the Jeep brand line-up grew to include 14 models.

1980 – 1990

The 4×4 market was revolutionised by the Jeep® Cherokee (XJ). The first compact 4-door SUV, first UniFrame construction, and first full-time 4×4 system with shift-on-the-fly capability, many firsts were introduced in the industry with the mighty XJ.

1990 – 2000

A new industry benchmark was set by the Jeep® Grand Cherokee in 1993.

Wrangler (TJ) with its new coil and super capability was introduced in 1997. The most capable SUV ever marketing strategy for Grand Cherokee (WJ) in 1999 soared its sales to 629K units for the decade.

2000 – 2010

Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon in 2003 was the most capable vehicle ever produced by the Jeep brand. It opened up the world of capability and potential to people who needed the room and utility of four doors. This new Wrangler variant with four doors took the industry by storm. On the other hand, Compass and Patriot in 2006 were the first Jeep® vehicles to reach the small cross-utility segment.

2010 – Today

An All-New redesigned 2011 Grand Cherokee redesigned and all-new was launched in 2011 to rave reviews. In 2013 with many new styling cues and a new 3.0L EcoDiesel engine it was refreshed. Promising to redefine the midsize segment, the all-new Cherokee replaced the Liberty in 2014.

Bringing capability and Jeep® brand style to a whole new market, in 2015 it entered the small SUV market with the Renegade.

Today, with the increase of the global sales to the highest point in over 75 years history, nearly 1.41 million units sold worldwide only in 2016 the brand JEEP resonates with consumers around the world.
